The APEC 2024 Senior Finance Officials' Meeting (SFOM) is taking place in the southern city of Urubamba, Cusco region, from May 27 to 30.
During this technical gathering, deliverables will be prepared for adoption by the Finance Ministers of the 21 APEC economies at their meeting.
In fact, the Finance Ministerial Meeting (FMM) will be held in the Peruvian capital, Lima, from October 18 to 21.
During this gathering, the delegations will discuss financial issues to promote a more sustainable, digital, and resilient Asia-Pacific region.
Topics will include discussions on energy transition, carbon measures, disaster risk financing, and open finance.
In Urubamba, two workshops on digital financial education and sustainable infrastructure will also be held.
These workshops will show experiences from participating economies and multilateral organizations on how to expand the use of digital tools in the financial sector and develop infrastructure that improves citizens' quality of life, all within a sustainability approach for APEC economies.
