Under the motto "Sustainable + Digital + Resilient = APEC," the 31st Finance Ministers Meeting (FMM) and related events of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum are taking place in Lima.
These gatherings are attended by finance ministers and heads of delegation from APEC member economies, as well as representatives from international organizations and the private sector.
Progress in the development of financial and economic policies in the Asia-Pacific region will be reviewed, with a view to successfully concluding the discussions with the adoption of a joint statement by APEC member economies.
The declaration will seek to approve key measures to foster sustainable, digital, and resilient economic growth in the region, which will focus on strengthening multilateral cooperation to confront global challenges on issues such as carbon pricing measures and other related instruments.
In addition to the sustainable energy transition, sustainable infrastructure financing, digital financial education, open finance and hydrometeorological risk financing, plus other measures aim to promote the finance ministers' process to be a more agile, efficient, and beneficial platform for all APEC economies.
The 31st APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting and related events are taking place in Lima, joining the more than 240 ministerial and high-level gatherings that have been held under Peru’s APEC 2024 Presidency throughout this year.
The FMM and related events, which began on October 18, will come to an end today.
