APEC-belonging countries approving a roadmap, designed to promote the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP) Creation Process, has been considered “a decision to be written in History books,” Chinese President, Xi Jinping, said on Tuesday.
FTAAP is aimed at promoting mutual benefits for Asia-Pacific regional cooperation.
The measure is a “historical step we take towards making FTAAP come true”, he expressed.
The official launching of the process proves APEC countries’ trust and determination, when it comes to streamlining regional economic integration, explained the hosting nation’s leader during a press conference held after the APEC Economic Leaders Meeting.
FTAAP is intended to provide new energy to its member countries' economic growth, the Head of State assured.
“We have come to the agreement that regional economic integration is the driving force behind a strong and sustained growth in the Asia-Pacific region,” he added.
