Renowned Spanish actor Antonio Banderas on Thursday highlighted Peruvian soccer team's participation in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.

Likewise, the famous Hollywood star pointed out he was amazed by fans who cheered on the Incas despite the tense moments they lived.

As is known, Peru lost to France in its second appearance at soccer's mega event.

"Peru is eliminated from this World Cup tournament playing a noble style without any fear," the international artist posted via Twitter.

"But above all, the team was supported by one of the best fan bases ever seen in World Cup history. I take my hat off to them," he underlined.

According to BBC news, some 15,000 Peruvians arrived at Ekaterinburg Arena to back their squad on the occasion.

It must be noted Antonio Banderas keeps great memories of Peru, as he visited the Inca country a few years ago.
