On the 100th day of the
state of emergency —decreed to contain the spread of COVID-19 throughout the country— more than 40,000 Peruvians stranded in Lima returned to their regions of origin since the implementation of humanitarian trips entered into force in April.
Transported on a bus, 26,198 citizens left from Lima to other regions: 3,608 departed from other regions to Lima, and 3,986 traveled between regions.
Others were brought back on humanitarian flights: 4,692 Peruvians left from Lima to other regions, and 4,254 departed from other regions to Lima.
