The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri Ore, reaffirmed its commitment to economic stability and fiscal soundness, during a working meeting with the President of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP), Julio Velarde Flores, and the Minister of Economy and Finance, Denisse Miralles.
The objective of the meeting was to coordinate actions aimed at consolidate the country's economic and monetary stability and strengthen confidence in Peru as an investment destination.
During the meeting, held yesterday at the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) headquarters, President Jeri emphasized that economic stability is a central pillar of his administration, along with citizen security.
“We are convinced that Peru must preserve its institutions, with clear rules, solid institutions, and a long-term vision. That will be our legacy: a country that honors its commitments, protects its fiscal strength, and remains a reliable destination for investment,” he stated.

President Jeri underscored that the Government maintains a firm commitment to macroeconomic stability and the country's institutional continuity, through close coordination between fiscal and monetary policy.
“We respect and support the independence of the Central Reserve Bank, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance will continue to lead a prudent, responsible, and transparent fiscal policy,” he emphasized.
He also announced that efficiency and fiscal discipline measures will be presented in the remainder of the year, aimed at ensuring compliance with the fiscal target, reaffirming the government's commitment to the sustainability of public finances.
Also participating in the meeting the General Manager of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP), Paul Castillo Bardalez.

Security is key
President Jeri also emphasized that citizen security is an essential condition for economic development, as it generates confidence, boosts consumption, and stimulates private investment. In this context, he reiterated the Executive Branch's commitment to promoting policies that consolidate an environment of legal stability, clear rules, and security for Peruvians.
Finally, President Jeri announced that the government will promote a joint agenda with SUNAT (the Peruvian tax authority) to reduce tax evasion and informality, broaden the tax base, and strengthen the equity of the tax system.
“Our objective is clear: to guarantee stability, promote investment, and ensure sustained growth for the benefit of all Peruvian families,” he concluded.
