Thanks to effective operational intelligence work, the Peruvian National Police (PNP) located and captured Juan Beceira Hernandez, 29, alias “Kendryx,” in Lima's Los Olivos district.
The Venezuelan national is an active member of the transnational criminal organization Tren de Aragua.
He is believed to have links to other criminal groups operating in Peru, including Desa III, Los Gatilleros del Cono Norte, and Los Terribles de Dominicos.
According to the police investigation, the suspect is implicated in a homicide that occurred on February 28, 2026, in Independencia district, Lima.
He is also linked to other cases involving contract killings, extortion, illegal possession of firearms, and drug trafficking.
Authorities found in his possession a revolver, ammunition, 30 sealed bags containing marijuana, and a mobile phone with photographs and videos showing the suspect posing with firearms, as well as cash allegedly obtained through extortion.
Planned migration to United States
In his preliminary statement, the detainee said he had spent eight months in Mexico intending to migrate to the United States. Upon returning to Lima, he allegedly received death threats from the criminal organization to which he belongs.
Beceira Hernandez stated that he acted under the orders of "El Ingeniero," or "Negro Paisa," identified as Denis Ivan Valentin, an alleged ringleader linked to extortion and contract killing.
The operation leading to his capture was carried out by the PNP's Criminal Investigation Directorate (Dirincri), in line with the National Citizen Security and Fight against Crime Plan.
