stated that all necessary decisions will be taken to restore order and peace throughout the country.
Likewise, the top official highlighted the Armed Forces' role in addressing the challenges facing the Peruvian State.
Remarks were made during a ceremony marking Armed Forces Day and honoring "Our Lady of Mercy, Grand Marshal and Patroness of the Armed Forces of Peru."
The event was held at Plaza a la Bandera (Flag Roundabout) in Lima's Pueblo Libre district on Sunday.
"The message is just one: there will be no territory in Peru living in fear. We will take strong decisions, all those that are necessary, to restore order and peace in our country. And I know I can count on you," Fujimori emphasized.
The top official said the emergence of new forms of crime requires the State to be led responsibly.
"As President of the Republic, I exercise supreme command of the Armed Forces. And for me, it is a responsibility, not a privilege. I understand it as a duty: the duty to lead, the duty to establish priorities, the duty to make decisions," she stated.
The President underscored the historical ties between the Armed Forces and the nation.
Similarly, she highlighted their presence at decisive moments in the Republic, as well as their role in defending sovereignty and supporting the population in emergencies.
"There are institutions that are part of the State, and there are institutions that are part of the soul of a nation. Our Armed Forces belong to both," Fujimori pointed out.
In this regard, she noted that speaking of the Peruvian Army, the Peruvian Navy, and the Peruvian Air Force also means referring to independence, sovereignty, and generations of Peruvians who placed duty to the homeland above individual interests.
Furthermore, the Head of State evoked the figures of Miguel Grau, Francisco Bolognesi, and Jose Abelardo Quiñones as symbols of the three armed forces.
"Three men, three armed forces, one flag," Fujimori said.
"Grau taught us courage without losing our humanity; Bolognesi, duty fulfilled to the very end; Quiñones, that there are moments when a man's life comes to belong forever to his homeland," she remarked.
Subsequently, the President paid tribute to the Armed Forces members who gave their lives in the line of duty and stressed the obligation to preserve their memory and recognize their families.
"To them we say: we have not forgotten you. It is our duty to honor your memory, recognize your families, and teach future generations that freedom, sovereignty, and peace were often defended at the highest price," she noted.
As part of the ceremony, the Head of State laid the wreath on behalf of the Presidential Office.
The ceremony also included a minute of silence in honor of Armed Forces members who fell in combat, as an expression of recognition and remembrance for their service to the country.
Moreover, the top official paid tribute to "Our Lady of Mercy, Patroness of the Armed Forces of the Republic and Grand Marshal of Peru."
Fujimori asked Our Lady of Mercy to protect the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families.
The ceremony was attended by Congress Chairman Miguel Angel Torres, Cabinet Chief Luis Galarreta, and Defense Minister Rafael Belaunde.
Those present included the Chief of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces, Army General Cesar Briceño; Army Commander General Oswaldo Calle; Navy Commander General, Admiral Javier Bravo de Rueda; and Air Force Commander General Mario Contreras.
