Peru: President meets with UNHCR to discuss protection of vulnerable groups

The President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori, met with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) representatives to discuss cooperation and protection measures for people in vulnerable situations and those on the move.

At Government Palace, the Head of State met with United Nations High Commissioner Barham Salih to strengthen cooperation with UNHCR.

The aim is to continue fostering protection and assistance measures for those in need of international protection.

The meeting also allowed for reaffirming the importance of the technical and financial support that UNHCR provides to the Peruvian State to strengthen the capacities of institutions responsible for handling these cases.
