stated that he will assess the performance of current State ministers and did not rule out possible reappointments if deemed appropriate.
In his first public remarks as Head of State on Wednesday night, he reaffirmed that he will work to ensure the next General Elections face no questionings.
He added that his administration will maintain healthy monetary policy.
"We will evaluate the ministers. Starting tomorrow, we will review who is fulfilling (their duties), and if reappointments are needed, they will be confirmed," Balcazar stated, adding that economic and financial policy will remain in place.
"(We will) maintain a healthy monetary policy so that economic agents can operate without volatility or concern. We have the best intentions, along with extensive public-sector experience, and we know how to run the State," he emphasized.
In that regard, the top official said he will speak this Thursday with the Economy and Finance minister to identify which areas need adjustment, noting that the nation cannot afford abrupt shifts regarding the economy.
Likewise, the President announced he will assess the Interior Ministry's performance in the fight against organized crime and noted that, if changes are required, they will be made.
Elections without questionings
At another point, the newly sworn-in President said his administration will ensure serious and transparent political activity "so that the elections face no questionings."
"In this remaining period, due to the removal of the previous president, a new election has constitutionally taken place, as you have witnessed. Thus, a constitutional transition has been carried out this evening," he concluded.
