Peru will promote its tourism and export offer at 13 ports in the Americas through "Casa Peru" (Peru House), a promotional platform set up aboard the sailing training ship B.A.P. Union, which will begin its training voyage (VIEX 2026) on April 18.

"Casa Peru" was presented by Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Jose Reyes during a ceremony held on the B.A.P. Union, attended by Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (Promperu) Executive President Freddy Solano and Peruvian Navy General Commander, Admiral Javier Bravo de Rueda.

The ship's journey, regarded as a traveling embassy, will enable "Casa Peru" to position the national offer in key markets such as the United States, Canada, Panama, and Ecuador.

During the event, Minister Reyes highlighted the strategic value of this initiative as a joint national effort.

"What we are witnessing today is not only the delivery of a promotional space, but also the expression of a national vision that recognizes Peru's international projection as a shared task built through combined efforts, capabilities, and commitments," he emphasized.

This year, "Casa Peru" has been set up under the concept "Peru, a country of unique experiences."

It will include not only the promotion of the Peru brand, but sector brands such as Alpaca del Peru (alpaca fiber), Cafes del Peru, Coffees From Peru Unique Specialties (both coffee), Super Foods Peru, Peru Textiles (textiles), Pisco Spirits of Peru (Pisco), and Peru Xpert (services).

In this regard, the Mincetur head stressed the value of the Peru brand as a key driver of international promotion and of the country's value proposition, noting that this initiative will project a solid and distinctive identity in global markets, strengthening Peru's presence with an integrated offer of products, culture, and unique experiences.

Similarly, Minister Reyes underscored the training ship's role as a traveling embassy for Peru worldwide.

"The B.A.P. Union represents Peru around the world with pride, discipline, and commitment. At every port, it not only carries our flag, but conveys who we are as a nation and everything we are capable of offering. Therefore, this partnership holds special significance," he stated.

As a reminder, the installation of "Casa Peru" aboard the B.A.P. Union stems from an agreement signed in 2022 between the Peruvian Navy and Promperu.

Between May and October 2025, the vessel received 148,905 visitors during its stopovers at various ports, mainly in the Netherlands (50,889) and Germany (38,165).

New Peru brand licensee

As part of the ceremony, Minister Reyes officially granted the license to use the Peru brand to the Peruvian Navy, recognizing its role as a strategic partner in promoting the South American country's image.

Within this framework, the government official highlighted the importance of this institutional milestone.

"Today we are officially granting the Peru brand to the Navy in recognition of its role as a strategic partner in promoting our national image," Reyes said.

"This handover represents trust; it also entails a shared responsibility to continue positioning Peru as a country of opportunities, diversity, and unique experiences," he added.

Thus, the Peruvian Navy joined the Peru Brand Licensee Program, allowing it to contribute to promoting the country's attributes and tourism and export potential abroad.

The ceremony was attended by Development and Social Inclusion Minister Lily Vasquez; Deputy Tourism Minister Aracelly Laca; Deputy Foreign Trade Minister Cesar Llona; B.A.P. Union Commander, Navy Captain Juan Jose Roncagliolo Gomez; among other officials.
