Presidential candidate Carlos Alvarez cast his vote at Alfonso Ugarte School in Lima's San Isidro district on Sunday morning.

The Pais Para Todos (Country for All party) representative waited briefly before exercising his right to vote at polling table No. 047738.

As he entered the polling place, Alvarez agreed to greet and take photographs with some of the citizens who were also waiting to vote.

After leaving the site where he cast his ballot, Alvarez said he hoped citizens would fulfill their civic duty and vote.

In that context, he indicated he would await the results.

In previous days, the comedian had announced his decision not to hold an election-day breakfast, saying he disagreed with the practice.

The 2026 electoral day began Sunday at 7:00 a.m. across the country, with more than 27 million Peruvians expected to head to polling places until 6:00 p.m. to choose national authorities and congressional representatives.
