U.S. highlights it shares with Peru goals of promoting inclusive economic growth

United States Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment, Jose W. Fernandez, indicated that his country shared with Peru the goals of promoting democratic institutions and inclusive economic growth.

In a message posted on social media last Thursday, the Biden administration official described as productive the meeting he held with Peruvian Cabinet Chief Alberto Otarola and

Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi.

The U.S. State Department member stressed that advancing the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity (APEP) and strengthening health systems in the Americas were also mentioned at this gathering.

Context

The aforementioned event took place within the framework of the visit by the Peruvian dignitaries to the U.S. city of Washington D.C., where they participated in an Organization of American States (OAS) meeting.

Both members of the Executive Branch were part of a high-level commission that explained to the aforementioned international entity the stance of the Peruvian Government regarding the Inter-American Human Rights System.
