The
United Nations (UN) showed its willingness to work together with the Peruvian Government in favor of dialogue and the restoration of social peace in the face of the protests that are taking place in various regions across the country.
"We were able to talk (with the President) about the need for dialogue and to make the entire United Nations' capacity available," Garafulic said in an interview with TV Peru.
The UN official stated that the intergovernmental organization could take part in said dialogue as a mediator, as an organizer of events in favor of social peace, among others.
"All this (would be) led by the Peruvian people, their leaders and, above all, giving priority to peaceful solutions to calm the situation in the country," he remarked.
"Our reason for being is to seek peace. Besides, that peace and that understanding is what the Peruvian people deserve to find," Garafulic added.
EU and UK support
On the other hand, Foreign Affairs Minister Gervasi affirmed that 20 Ambassadors of the
European Union (EU) and the British Ambassador to Peru held a meeting with the Head of State, in which they expressed their support for the Peruvian Government.
"Twenty Ambassadors of the European Union and the British Ambassador to Peru expressed their support for Dina Boluarte as the Constitutional President of Peru," she concluded.
