Peru has been nominated once again for the title of World’s Leading Culinary Destination at the 2026 World Travel Awards, aiming to secure the top spot for the fourteenth time in this prestigious competition—often referred to as the "Oscars" of tourism.
Following its wins in six categories at the 2026 South America edition of the World Travel Awards, Peru returns to compete strongly in the global edition of these awards, hoping to surpass the four accolades it earned in 2025.

In this 2026 global edition of the World Travel Awards, Peru has received nominations in 11 categories—an increase from the nine it held in 2025.
Below are Peru’s eleven nominations for the 2026 global edition of the World Travel Awards:
1. World’s Leading Tourist Attraction 2026: Machu Picchu. Winner in seven editions: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2024, and 2025.
2.- World’s Leading Culinary Destination in 2026. Winner in 13 editions: 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
3.- World’s Leading Cultural Destination in 2026. Winner in seven editions: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
4.- World’s Leading Heritage City Destination in 2026: Lima. Winner in the 2023 and 2025 editions.
5.- World Responsible Tourism Award 2026: Posada Amazonas Lodge. Winner in the 2020 and 2021 editions. It also won in the South America category in five editions: 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026.
6.- World’s Leading Tourism Board 2026: Promperú. Winner in 2025, and a nominee in the 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, and 2008 editions.
7.- World’s Leading Destination 2026.
