Prime Minister Alberto Otarola on Friday reported that the cabinet of peace, dialogue, and meritocracy held more than 500 meetings with local authorities and community representatives during his current tenure.

Joined by President Dina Boluarte during a press conference, the government's spokesman highlighted the work that the cabinet has carried out regarding social peace —as part of his presentation to provide an assessment of the current administration.

The high-ranking official explained that, during said meetings, dialogue on the social agenda was privileged with clear commitments for the execution of investment programs and projects.

Furthermore, he reported that so far eight dialogue, peace, and governability roundtables have been set up in Loreto, San Martin, Amazonas, Ucayali, Pasco, Junin, Huancavelica, and Huanuco regions.

Otarola added that, commissioned by President Boluarte, the first Regional Con Punche (meeting) has been held in Ica, where local authorities and civil society representatives discussed peace and the basic conditions for the country's development.

"There (in Ica), we have verified through a transparent dialogue with regional authorities, mayors, and representatives of organized civil society that what this region requires, like the entire Peru, is peace, tranquility, and basic conditions for development and closure of gaps," he expressed.
