"As of July 28, the date on which the Government led by President Francisco Sagasti ends, we can exceed the goal we had set for ourselves, as we plan to immunize around 8 million people with both doses," she expressed.
The high-ranking official said this will guarantee that one third of the country's adult population becomes protected against the pandemic.
Likewise, the Cabinet chief affirmed that more doses will arrive starting August. Thus, the vaccination rate will be maintained and could even be increased.
Moreover, Bermudez said a total of 70 protocols linked to sanitary and prevention measures against COVID-19, which are in force in various sectors, have been identified. These have been updated and will allow the next administration to get new instruments so as not to lose speed in addressing the pandemic.
The head of the Ministerial Cabinet also noted that on July 6 the immunization of rural school teachers will begin so that children in these areas can progressively attend face-to-face classes.
Lastly, the Prime Minister indicated that information will be made available to the public as part of the
Transfer with Transparency process which is currently being implemented.
Remarks were made during a press conference held at the Government Palace in Lima.
