"The good performance of our exports was due to a greater presence of products from the
mining, agro-export, and fishery sectors," CCL's Foreign Trade Research and Development Institute (Idexcam) Executive-Director Carlos Posada expressed.
These markets are the United States, Bulgaria, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia, Namibia, and Turkey.
Among the destinations, the U.S., Bulgaria, and Australia have trade Agreements with Peru, "which serve as windows of opportunity that can be taken advantage of."
Precisely, Peruvian exports to the United States —our main trading partner— reached US$4.309 billion —an amount that represented an increase of 6.06% compared to its similar period in 2019.
Posada also mentioned that this outcome is explained by higher
shipments of gold in other forms, except for monetary use, which totaled US$1.063 billion (+188.13%).
These are followed by
fresh grapes, whose shipments amounted to US$218 million registering an expansion of 31.8%.
Lastly, exports of
fresh blueberries totaled US$192 million —a 0.97% rise if compared with January and September 2019.
