Peru: Two ministers sworn in virtually as part of Cabinet reshuffle

Rocio Barrios and Patricia Donayre were both sworn in virtually when President Martin Vizcarra administered the oath of office to members of the reshuffled Cabinet led by Prime Minister Pedro Cateriano.


Former Production Minister Rocio Barrios will lead the Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry. She will replace Edgar Vasquez.

The high-ranking official was worn in virtually given that she is under quarantine for coronavirus (COVID-19).

Precisely, in the swearing-in ceremony of the new Cabinet members, the Head of State noted that she is recovering from the disease and expressed hope for her speedy recuperation.

Similarly, Patricia Donayre took the oath of office virtually since she was in the city of Iquitos (Loreto region).

She will assume the helm of the country's Development and Social Inclusion Ministry and replace Ariela Luna.
