16:20 | Lima, Jul. 7.

Moody's Investors Service Vice-President Jaime Reusche on Wednesday affirmed that Peru's next Economy-Finance Minister can provide peace of mind to markets supported by announcements on fiscal responsibility and respect for the signed contracts.

"If the incoming government is transparent and has more communication, it can provide calm to markets. Obviously, there is plenty of nervousness about what may happen, but if communication with international markets and the domestic sphere is established, and it is explained what will be done in the future, tranquility will return," he commented during his participation in the webinar titled: 2021 Post Elections Economic Outlooks & Scenarios organized by El Dorado Investments.

Reusche said that MEF has many economic instruments, such as the Multiannual Macroeconomic Framework (MMM), which give plenty of tranquility to markets due to the good macroeconomic management that is perceived.

"Besides, the technocrats who work at the ministry have also proven a great capacity for macroeconomic management, which gives great peace of mind concerning the functioning of the ministerial entity," he concluded.
