Emblematic dances from the coastal, Andean, and rainforest areas of Peru shone at the start of the 2023 Great Civic and Military Parade held on Lima's Brasil Avenue on Saturday.

Students from the Naval Technological Higher Education Institute (CITEN) showcased elegance by dancing to the rhythm of popular Marinera in front of the main platform chaired by President Dina Boluarte.

This presentation was followed by one featuring Valicha, a popular genre that is sung and danced in the country's highlands.

It was represented by Peruvian National Police NCO School students on this occasion.

In turn, students from the Peruvian Air Force NCO School danced the Pesca Ashaninka (Ashaninka Fishing), a genre native to the jungle that represents the moment when the Ashaninkas go fishing to feed their families.

This event is part of activities on the occasion of Peru's 202nd Independence Anniversary.
