Peru: MEF approves import reference prices for corn, sugar, rice and milk

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) has approved reference prices and additional variable duties for imports of corn, sugar, rice, and whole milk powder.

Through Deputy Ministerial Resolution No. 002-2026-EF/15.01, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on Thursday, it was established that the reference price for corn will be US$213 per metric ton (MT), while the additional variable duty will be set at US$0 per MT.

Likewise, for sugar imports, the reference price will be set at US$426 per metric ton (MT). The additional variable duty will amount to US$105 per MT.

In the case of rice, the reference price is set at US$443 per metric ton (MT), while the additional variable duty will be US$139 for paddy rice and US$199 for milled rice.


Lastly, the reference price for whole milk powder is set at US$3,928 per metric ton (MT). The additional variable duty payable will be US$0 per MT.

The regulation bears the signature of Deputy Economy Minister Gerardo Lopez Gonzales.
