The Embassy of Peru in the State of Qatar secured the evacuation of four compatriots who had remained in Doha since February 28, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on Friday.

The women were aboard a cruise ship when conflict in the Middle East broke out, leaving the vessel immobilized in the Qatari capital.

The diplomatic mission maintained permanent contact with the four compatriots since their arrival in Doha.

It provided them with support, consular assistance, and guidance during their stay in Qatar.

The assistance included emotional support amid heightened regional tensions marked by the attacks Doha has experienced in recent days.

After various and intensive efforts by the Embassy, the group of Peruvian women—all older adults in a vulnerable situation—was included on a special evacuation flight.

The evacuation took them out of the conflict zone so they could later continue their journey home.

The Embassy of Peru in Qatar continues to monitor the situation of Peruvians who remain stranded in said country.

It also maintains permanent contact with Peruvian residents, following up on requests and requirements in this emergency situation.
