OAS Secretary General congratulates Keiko Fujimori, wishes her success

Organization of American States (OAS) Secretary General Albert R. Ramdin spoke with Popular Force Party candidate Keiko Fujimori on Monday, congratulating her on her victory in the presidential runoff and expressing his best wishes for a successful term in office.

"President-elect Fujimori kindly invited me to attend her inauguration, and we agreed to meet on the margins of the ceremony," he indicated in a message posted on social media.

Likewise, Ramdin said he looks forward to working closely with Fujimori and her government to strengthen cooperation between the OAS and Peru, particularly in the areas of security, democratic governance, and sustainable development.

In response, Keiko Fujimori thanked the OAS Secretary General for his congratulations and best wishes.

"I am confident that we will be able to strengthen our cooperation and work together to consolidate democracy, institutional strength, and the development of our region," she expressed.

Ramdin also congratulated Together for Peru Party candidate Roberto Sanchez on the "strong campaign and his contribution as a formidable contender in this democratic process."

He stated that all candidates' commitment to democratic competition is essential to strengthening Peru's institutions and the will of its people.


Andean Community

The General Secretariat of the Andean Community (CAN) congratulated Keiko Fujimori on her election as President of Peru.

Furthermore, it recognized the democratic spirit of the Peruvian people, as reflected in their active participation in the elections.

In this regard, it reiterated its willingness to continue coordinating efforts to strengthen and deepen the Andean integration process.

"In the current context of international challenges, which have a significant impact on the Andean subregion, it is essential to foster greater cooperation among Member Countries and promote initiatives that contribute to sustainable development and the well-being of more than 116 million Andean citizens," the General Secretariat said in a statement.


CAF

The Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) also congratulated Keiko Fujimori on her victory in the presidential runoff.

"We reaffirm our commitment to continue supporting the country in its development agenda, contributing financing, knowledge, and cooperation for the benefit of all Peruvians," CAF stated via social media.


IDB

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) expressed its congratulations to Popular Force Party leader Fujimori on her virtual election as President of Peru.

"The Inter-American Development Bank Group reaffirms its commitment to working together to improve the quality of life for all Peruvians," it stated.


ONPE


The results of the runoff are currently subject to decentralized proclamation by the Special Electoral Boards.

Afterwards, the National Elections Board (JNE) will issue the official nationwide proclamation of the results of the June 7 election.
