Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) Chairman Sergio Ludeña received officials from Peru's Foreign Affairs Ministry, with whom he toured the National Sports Village (Videna), one of the venues that will host the Lima 2027 Pan American Games.

The IPD head met with the Chief of the General Directorate of Cultural Diplomacy, Carlos Amezaga; Minister in the Diplomatic Service of the Republic, Pablo Albarracin; and Third Secretary of the Directorate of Cultural Diplomacy and former high-performance athlete at Lima 2019, Mauricio Garrido.

The authorities visited the facilities of the Athletics Stadium, the Velodrome, the Aquatic Center, Sports Complex 3, and the Biomedical Center.

The latter features state-of-the-art technology, including Peru's only cryotherapy chamber (the second in South America) and an Altitude Laboratory, where endurance and performance tests can be conducted using a high-altitude simulator (up to 4,800 meters above sea level).

They also visited the gym and the Biomedical Center's residential facility, spaces with modern infrastructure that demonstrate Peru is ready for Lima 2027 to be the best Pan American Games in history.

Road to Lima 2027

Within this framework, a virtual meeting was held with Panam Sports, led by its President, Neven Ilic, in order to fine-tune details ahead of Lima 2027.

Topics addressed included the Games' budget, as well as transport, basic services, security, improvements to some Pan American Village areas, and satellite accommodations for sports such as surfing, water skiing, rowing, and canoeing.

Thus, the current IPD administration continues its firm work toward the Lima 2027 Pan American Games.
