The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Thursday extended greetings on the occasion of the World Health Day and the 75th anniversary of the World Health Organization (WHO), noting that she is grateful for the support it provides to Peru in the development of public policies in the health sector.

In a video message posted on social media, the Head of State remarked that this anniversary represents "an opportunity to reiterate Peru's firm commitment to health, to continue fighting against inequalities and generating well-being."

In this regard, she noted that this anniversary coincides with a time of huge challenges, which in Peru is characterized by the continuation of the fight against COVID-19 and the presence of heavy rains and floods.

"The Government, in line with the commitment of protecting health, life, and the integrity of people above all, is working tirelessly to support victims and face this moment together," Mrs. Boluarte pointed out.

"We appreciate the contribution of the WHO, its directors, and professionals, who work and coordinate hand-in-hand with the Ministry of Health and different institutions," the country's top official stated.

The President's post was responded by WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who thanked Mrs. Boluarte for her message of support on the occasion of the WHO's 75th anniversary.

In his message, the World Health Organization's head welcomed the Peruvian President's commitment to health care for all.
