Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi on Thursday met with Yasutoshi Nishimura,
Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and Chairman of the Japan-Peru Parliamentary Friendship League.
According to a statement posted on its social media page, the
Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the meeting addressed
common trade ties and the
strengthening of Peru's role in Japanese value chains.
Moreover, they proposed to develop a pilot project for Peru, in order to expand and diversify Japanese investment in the South American country.
Finally, the Foreign Affairs sector's head invited Minister Nishimura to visit Peru in 2024.

Earlier, Minister Gervasi met with the Chair of the Committee on Latin America and the Caribbean of the
Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), who was joined by
senior executives of Japanese firms Mitsubishi, Sojitz, Sumitomo, Nippon Koei, Marubeni, among others.
The Peruvian diplomat stressed the importance of a Keidanren delegation's visit to Peru, which could join Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, within the framework of APEC Peru 2024 meetings.
