The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Wednesday pledged to lay the first stone for what will become the Ancon Industrial Park —a project long awaited by micro and small entrepreneurs.

Mrs. Boluarte participated in the ceremony on the occasion of the National Day of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) held at the Government Palace in Lima.

Within this framework, the Head of State asked Production Minister Sergio Gonzalez to immediately call the tender for the public work execution.

"I am committed to going with the Production minister, the chair (of the Micro Entrepreneurs Confraternity Group Association), and with all of you to lay the cornerstone for our industrial park," Mrs. Boluarte said.

The top official highlighted the contribution of MSEs to Peruvian economy as they account for 99% of total formal enterprises in this country.

"You are the force, you are the engine for Peru to continue advancing, for Peru to continue moving forward," she emphasized.

Thus, the Head of State indicated that the Government will continue working to train and formalize MSEs.

Mrs. Boluarte indicated that 19,000 of these companies have been formalized to date. She added the goal for this year is to reach 50,000.

The top official also underscored that more than 30% of these companies are run by women, whom she told that they are not alone because they rely on the support from a government fully focused on working for the country's progress.

"Formalization, growth, and innovation are the axes of MSEs development, and we are committed to that objective," she expressed.
