The transitional government led by President Jose Maria Balcazar began rounds of dialogue with Parliament groups to present the main actions it is currently implementing.

These dialogue rounds began on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. (local time), when Prime Minister Denisse Miralles met with the Accion Popular (Popular Action) congressional group.

The Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) underscored that these meetings are being held due to the proximity of the General Elections, in order to present the key priorities the government is currently working on.

These are: addressing the emergency caused by El Niño and energy security, ensuring resources for the 2026 electoral process, strengthening public safety, and preserving Peru’s economic stability.

"Thirty-three days before the 2026 General Elections, in which the Peruvian people will democratically choose the next President of the Republic at the polls, the transitional government began working meetings with Congress representatives to present the four priorities it is implementing: addressing the emergency caused by El Niño and energy security, ensuring resources for the 2026 electoral process, strengthening public safety, and preserving the country’s economic stability," the PCM reported on X.

Yesterday, the Cabinet chief said that she would meet with the remaining parliamentary groups, including non-affiliated lawmakers, in the coming days.

"We will try to conclude meetings with all political groups this week," said the Prime Minister, who expressed optimism that they will receive the vote of confidence.
