Prime Minister Mirtha Vasquez on Tuesday affirmed that the Government has not stopped operating and it continues to work hard on issues of interest to the regions, in the face of alleged instability situations.

Her remarks were delivered before traveling to the province of Abancay (Apurimac region) to participate in the Muni-Executive meeting.

The Cabinet chief said that she hopes democratic vocation will prevail in the decisions adopted by the Congress of the Republic.

According to Vasquez, this will contribute to making further progress in the important work done to overcome the main problems that the country is facing.

The high-ranking official reported that the Muni-Executive meeting will bring together some 80 mayors of districts and provinces, with whom the Government will address fundamental issues that the State needs to promote.

For example, she said, the dialogue will address economic revival, the return to in-person classes, and the management of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, it will serve to coordinate the progress of development projects in the area.

The Muni-Executive meeting, she noted, is a decentralized management model to which the Government gives priority and works well for reaching out to the most remote regions and places.

The event will feature the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo, given that the presence of the Executive Branch is important at a time when the country needs to move forward to cope with crises.
