Similarly, Wan Min specified that, once the works are completed, a new route between Shanghai and Chancay will be opened up. It will allow for travelling this stretch in approximately 23 days —10 days less than what it currently takes.
"This will greatly strengthen the export of agricultural products, both from Peru and (the rest of) South America," he added.
The chairman reported that the corporation applies in Chancay the same technology and standards used at China's Shanghai Port.
"We are convinced that, supported by the (Peruvian) president (Dina Boluarte) and the entire private sector present here, the Chancay Megaport will become an important gateway for Peru and South America, not only to Asia but also to the rest of the world," he pointed out.
