The Peruvian Government will foster water and sanitation projects in Ancash region, plus the construction of roads to improve the population's quality of life and reduce poverty rates in the area, President Dina Boluarte indicated.

Remarks were made after meeting with province and district mayors of said jurisdiction.

At this working meeting, the president stated that support will be given to local and province authorities during her administration so that they can reduce the sanitation gap nationwide.

"All provinces, districts, and localities must have water and sewage (services) because that is a basic right," she emphasized.

The top official informed mayors that priority will be given to road projects (highways and bridges) since it is important to unite people so that, through greater connectivity, they can achieve development.

"We have 60 modular bridges in the northern warehouse, and they are available to the regions that request them because, when a road is blocked, we must intervene immediately so as not to affect people's daily lives," she emphasized.

Mayors Carlos Cantaro (Carhuaz province), Hugo Huerta (Pararin district), Elmer Cacha (Jangas district), and Albert Minaya (Acas district) attended the meeting.

Also present were Congresswoman Lady Camones (Ancash region), as well as Ministers Hania Perez de Cuellar (Housing, Construction, and Sanitation), and Jose Arista (Economy and Finance).

This event took place at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital, Lima, on Thursday.
