President Pedro Pablo kuczynski on Saturday said Peru's economic revival is underway and this is reflected in a strong expansion of public investment within a context of low inflation.
"Peru is one of the countries with the fastest growth rates in South America, as well as the one with the highest
public investment and the lowest
inflation rate," he told RPP local news station.
"Every time I'm overseas I'm praised for our country's
good economic performance. However, when I come back here I read leading articles suggesting we are living just like we did in the 80s. That's not fair," he regretted.
Public investment
Peru's top official underlined the reactivation of public investment is making up for lost time.
"Public investment is rising at a rate of 25%, which will help us make up for the time lost over the past three years due to low public investment, despite vigorous efforts," he indicated.
