President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski is confident Peru will become a different nation by 2021 —the country's bicentennial year of independence— thanks to an education and culture drive.

Remarks were made during his TV program titled "Conversando con el Presidente" (A Conversation with the President), which featured Culture Minister Salvador del Solar.

Peru's top official said "there's plenty of work to be done" to see these changes.

"We should put education, culture and sports as an equal priority," the statesman said, as he explained State ministers will embrace changes "as a single force."

The 78-year-old claimed education and culture are the foundations of the Inca country.

Likewise, he expects culture can be brought into schools and educational institutions, through artistic performances and dances.

On the matter, Culture Minister Salvador del Solar said he and his Education peer work hand-in-hand to bring cinema, dances and other activities to schools across the country.
