The 2017 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit is a great platform to present Peru as an attractive country to invest in, Prime Minister Mercedes Araoz pointed out Wednesday.

APEC "is a good forum to present Peru as an attractive place for the Asia-Pacific investments, a region that has a favorable view of our country," she expressed.

Araoz also said President Kuczynski has an important program during the present APEC Summit, in which Peru has an active participation.

On this occasion, the Head of State's activities include a gathering with Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping aimed at boosting and strengthening bilateral ties with the Asian Giant.

Likewise, Peru's top official will hold meetings with Viet Nam's President Tran Dai Quang, as well as with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

It must be noted Peru will sign a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Australia within this framework.

According to the also Second Vice-President, the Asia-Pacific region should continue insisting on an integration agenda, particularly when some nations seem to oppose trade openness and investments.

The 25th edition of APEC Summit takes place in Da Nang city (Viet Nam) thru November 11.
