Peruvian athlete David Torrence managed to qualify for Rio 2016 Men’s 5000m Final.

The Peruvian runner ended in tenth position with a time of 13:23.20.

He competed against British multiple medalist Mo Farah, who won the gold medal in the Men’s 10000m.

It should be pointed out David Torrence represented the United States in Toronto 2015 Pan American Games, where he collected silver in the 5000m.

However, Torrence —son of Peruvian woman— claimed the Peruvian nationality to represent the Andean nation in his first Olympic Games.

The final will be held on Saturday at 19:30 hours (Peruvian time).
