11:17 | Lima, Sep. 4.

Once teachers' strike was called off, public schools in Lima Metropolitan Area and Callao region reopened their doors on Monday morning to welcome students returning to classrooms.

As is known, an indefinite national strike was suspended all over the country last Saturday.

Therefore, teachers returned to work and joined regional authorities in the educational process for the benefit of youngsters.

On the other hand, the Government has welcomed teachers' commitment to resuming classes.

Days ago, strikers had opposed to sign an agreement with Peru's Education Ministry, as they refused to go through a performance assessment process.
