Wife of Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, Nancy Lange, on Wednesday donated a total of 60 first-aid kits to the Peruvian General Volunteer Firefighters Department (CGBVP).

The donation was made within the framework of "Yo tambien soy bombero" (I, Too, Am a Firefighter) —a national campaign aimed at reducing accident and emergency rates in the Andean country.

Mrs. Lange noted Mitsubishi Corporation's involvement in the campaign and private sector's increased contribution to the fire department.

"For the Government's part, my office channels several donations. Our next step is to raise awareness among the population, stimulate social change and get further support in favor of firefighters, which can be possible if people change their mindset," she commented.

On the other hand, CGBVP General Commander Cesar Leigh Arias thanked President's wife for her constant efforts to gather tools and equipment, thus enabling men and women in red to serve more Peruvian citizens.

According to the fire company, supplies shall be destined for brigades in inland Peru.
