The Peruvian Government wants enterprises to become stronger, invest, and have positive profitability, but also to fulfill their obligations towards the State, President Martin Vizcarra affirmed Tuesday.

According to the Head of State, the Inca country needs a strong economy —with public and private investment, as well as higher tax collection— in order to achieve development.

"We are aware that we have several possibilities to increase (tax collection)," the statesman expressed in this sense.

"We must focus on the large companies, which owe debts to the State, but have not been requested to pay them, as established by law," he added.

In this sense, the top official stated his administration wants enterprises to work, invest, and make profits, but also to be responsible and comply with State regulations.

"These (companies) can continue making progress, but they must also contribute to the country's progress. That is what we want," the Peruvian leader affirmed.

Within this context, he also said his administration has achieved an economic growth of 5% in two months, higher than the 2.5% rate recorded last year.

Such expansion is a goal achieved with the support of all Peruvians, Mr. Vizcarra remarked.

He went on to add this growth will benefit everyone, as the Government bets on inclusive development.

Lastly, he recalled one of his administration's priorities is to complete works in coordination with regional and local governments since they have a decentralist approach.
