52% of Peruvians approve of the job President Martin Vizcarra is doing in office, according to the latest national urban-rural poll conducted by research firm GfK.
Published on Sunday by La Republica local newspaper, the study reveals that 23% of the population disapprove of Vizcarra's job performance, while the remaining 25% had no opinion on the matter.
As for the public perception of the President, 59% of respondents believe he is respected by Peruvian nationals, whereas 37% said citizens have little respect for him.
Also, 52% of the survey's participants said the Head of State
builds confidence, 54% think he is active/energetic, 53% believe he has credibility, and 53% say he is loved by Peruvians.
On the other hand, 54% of those surveyed affirmed Vizcarra will do better than former President
Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, 29% think there won't be a change at all, 6% affirm he will do worse, and 11% had no opinion.
Asked if they think the country will revive growth under Vizcarra's administration, 67% of respondents said yes, 24% said no, and 9% preferred not to state an opinion.
As per the key
topics the government will focus on, 64% of the population think the government should address education, while 55% said the government should focus on health, 50% demand a frontal fight against corruption, and 15% the
reconstruction in northern Peru.
