President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Monday affirmed there is no cause for a new impeachment motion against him and underlined that said measure —if approved— would generate a huge disorder in Peru.

Via Twitter, the Head of State deemed necessary that the Executive Branch and Congress work together in favor of the country.

It must be noted a group of legislators from opposition parties announced a new impeachment motion —on the grounds of moral incapacity— will be filed in the coming days.

According to them, the request seeks to remove Mr. Kuczynski from office for alleged links with Brazilian construction company Odebrecht.

The motion needs 26 signatures to begin debate, and it requires 87 (two-thirds) out of 130 votes to pass.

As is known, a similar impeachment motion was rejected last December, as it only got 79 votes.
