Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski has reaffirmed his full commitment to governability and the Constitution by denying intentions to resign from presidency.

"I'm not going to resign, nor let unjustified statements make me do it. There is no reason to introduce another impeachment motion three months after the first attempt without additional evidence. I'm committed to Peru," he affirmed.

Mr. Kuczynski reiterated his commitment to the country's development and said a new impeachment attempt would lead to a loss of opportunities for economic growth and wellbeing of citizens, while causing political and social instability.

"We are going to lose opportunities because of the instability that is generated not by me but by others who are trying to oust me, although they are not going to achieve it," he stated.

Finally, the Head of State reaffirmed he will remain in office thru 2021 as established in the Political Constitution of Peru, following 2016 election results.

"I'm still here, working for all Peruvians, and I'll continue doing it until the last day of my term on 28 July 2021," he added.

His remarks were made at the end of the Council of Ministers session on Wednesday.
