Dialogue between President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski and opposition party leader Keiko Fujimori will bear fruits in the coming future, the Head of State himself assured.

Remarks were made following an audience he held with Mrs. Fujimori at Lima's Government Palace on Tuesday.

Dialogue comprised matters of security, fight against corruption, economic reactivation, reconstruction following Coastal El Niño phenomenon, and employment generation.

"We have had a pleasant conversation about the topics […] fight against corruption, upgrading of the judicial system, the Comptroller General's Office and the supervisory bodies," the Head of State stated.

According to Peru's top official, the economy —including ordinary and major investment projects— were also addressed at the meeting.

"I'm sure proper dialogue among main political forces will allow Peru to rely on the tools needed to leave the economic slowdown behind, which is costly for workers [and] for everybody," he indicated.

The audience was an opportunity to bridge gaps between President Kuczynski's administration and Mrs. Fujimori's opposition party —holding the majority of seats in Congress (71 out of 130)— in favor of policies the country needs.

Former presidential candidate Fujimori was accompanied by ex-running mate Jose Chlimper. On the other hand, Mr. Kuczynski was joined by First Vice-President Martin Vizcarra on the occasion.

It must be noted both Mr. Kuczynski and Mrs. Fujimori met in Lima last December.
