Tuesday meeting with opposition leader Keiko Fujimori will address key policies in Peru, but her father's pardon will be left out of the discussion, Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski said on Friday.
During their talk, they will discuss ways to improve governance, the special powers granted by Congress and
public safety.
"This meeting is between the President and the opposition leader, so I thought a direct talk would be a good idea, but if she wants to bring somebody she trusts, I have no problem with that," he said.
Moreover, Peru's top official reaffirmed he will transmit the matters discussed to the National Agreement.
With regard to legislative decrees passed under
Congress-granted powers, he referred to one authorizing land expropriation and another one for concession of wastewater treatment.
As far as public insecurity, the meeting will explore how to step up the fight against this scourge.
