Peru's Prime Minister Mercedes Araoz has arrived to speak before the Congress and present her administration's guidelines to seek a vote of confidence.
Araoz was sworn in as President Kuczynski's new Prime Minister on September 17, after opposition-controlled Parliament
dismissed the previous Cabinet in a vote of no-confidence, forcing ministers to leave their posts.
Before speaking at Congress, Peru's Cabinet chief held meetings with different parliamentary groups so as to discuss a potential joint agenda for future action.
In
previous statements, she showed herself willing to work hand-in-hand with the Legislative Branch in order to maintain democratic peace and balance in Peru.
During today's session, Araoz expects to address the government's general policy and urge members of Congress to give her and her Council of Ministers the corresponding confidence vote.
She shall be accompanied by the entire Ministerial Cabinet during her presentation in the presence of lawmakers.
