Peru PM says Government seeks unity free of political strife

16:44 | Moyobamba (San Martin region), Jun. 1.

Peru's Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva on Friday affirmed the Government of President Martin Vizcarra looks for unity —to resolve national issues— away from political divisions and disputes.

After inspecting a land for two school sites in San Martin region's Moyobamba City, the Cabinet chief said further efforts will be made to continue investing in education.

"Our Government pursues giving and uniting (people), and these efforts are only possible by joining forces (…). We are willing to continue investing in education," he pointed out.

Likewise, Villanueva said the Government will support mayors until their last day in office, meaning end-December.

"We are willing to provide strong support to authorities, whose term is due to expire on December 31. We are going to support them until the last day, staying away from political disputes and permanent divisions," he added.

Finally, the Prime Minister asked parents to join Government's fight against anemia and chronic malnutrition in children.

"We cannot have a powerful country whose child population is undernourished and anemic," he noted.
