Peru PM met with Cajamarca region mayors

14:01 | Cajamarca (Cajamarca region), May. 10.

Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva and several Cabinet members on Thursday held a series of audiences with 13 provincial mayors in North-Andean Cajamarca region, within the framework of Muni-Executive Power meeting.

Authorities gathered at Cajamarca's High-Performance School (COAR) to identify and prioritize development projects in favor of the population.

As is known, President Martin Vizcarra's administration promotes decentralization, which comprises listening to people's needs and solving problems in their own regions.

Economic and social dynamism —in Peruvian regions— as well as territorial dialogue, and intergovernmental cooperation were promoted on the occasion.

Likewise, mayors identified and prioritized investment projects in various sectors.

Attending ministers were: Gustavo Mostajo (Agriculture and Irrigation), Liliana La Rosa (Development and Social Inclusion), David Tuesta (Economy and Finance), Fabiola Muñoz (Environment), Daniel Alfaro (Education), Francisco Ismodes (Energy and Mines), Silvia Pessah (Health), Edmer Trujillo (Transport and Communications), and Javier Pique (Housing, Construction, and Sanitation).

Muni-Executive Power meetings denote cooperation platforms that promote, develop, and strengthen the joint efforts between municipalities and the Executive Branch.

These audiences also reinforce the Inca country's decentralization process and improve the conditions for local governments to develop their initiatives, projects, and policies in favor of the population.

Previous Muni-Executive meetings have been held in Puno and Ucayali regions.
