Peru's Paracas beach resort will draw some US$10 million in revenue during the "Summer 2018" season, the city’s Tourism and Foreign Trade Chamber (Capatur) Chairman Eduardo Jauregui projected.

Within this framework, the Annual Conference of Executives CADE 2017 will be held for fifth consecutive year in the southern city from November 29 to December 1.

"It is the fifth consecutive year Paracas will host this business event, thus marking the start of the Summer 2018," the officer highlighted.

According to Jauregui, some 2,000 rooms are already available for the business meeting.

"Paracas should receive some US$3 million from this year's CADE event," the Capatur head estimated.

Dakar 2018

Likewise, Jauregui underscored the economic revenue resulting from the international Dakar Rally 2018 sports event, which will officially start in the area on January 4.

"We expect the arrival of approximately 25,000 people for the Dakar Rally, among entrepreneurs, mechanics, journalists and pilots' relatives," the officer said.

"We also expect to raise some US$ 3 million in revenue for our city [on that occasion]," he added.

In addition, "Summer 2018" will include activities such as the National Pisco Sour Day, Paracas' Anniversary and the Holy Week, among others.

Such period will conclude with the 2nd Grape Harvest Festival (Festival de la Vendimia), for which some 15,000 visitors are expected to arrive at the beach resort.

Paracas National Reserve

This Reserve is a privileged place on the Peruvian coast for nature tourism, since it hosts a great biological diversity, especially marine-coastal species.

The area is home to nearly 216 species of birds, 36 of mammals, 10 of reptiles, 168 of fish and a large number of invertebrates, which are at the bottom of the trophic chain in this important place.

Vegetation is scarce in this paradisiacal location, but a few coastal hills can be seen on top of the mountains, which serve as habitats for various reptiles, insects, birds and some mammals.

Paracas National Reserve is situated at km 245 of the Panamericana Sur Highway and can be reached in approximately four hours by car.
