Peru Moda 2018 arrives in South Korea

08:30 | Seoul (South Korea), Mar. 28.

The second edition of Peru Moda Asia took place in Seoul last week featuring 12 enterprises from the alpaca textile sector.

Over 250 articles made from this fiber —such as garments, accessories, and decorations— were exhibited at the event.

Likewise, one-on-one meetings with more than 30 South Korean specialized buyers took place on the occasion.

During the opening ceremony, Peruvian Ambassador to South Korea Daul Matute delivered a welcoming address and led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, joined by Peru's Trade Office in Seoul (OCEX Seoul) Advisor Joan Manuel Barrena, and Exports-Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) Coordinator Igor Rojas.

In this sense, Peru Moda —the Inca country's leading fashion event— served to stress the high quality of Peruvian alpaca fiber, as well as business opportunities that will increase export markets for these products.

This event was part of the promotion efforts undertaken by Alpaca del Peru (Peru's Alpaca) brand.

It must be noted the Peruvian Government launched said brand in 2014 to properly position this fine fiber on the international market.
