Legislators from various parties on Wednesday highlighted their peer Cesar Villanueva's willingness for dialogue and experience in decentralization issues.
Also, they noted he meets all the standards to become Peru's next Prime Minister, thus replacing Mercedes Araoz.
According to Alianza Por el Progreso (APP) lawmaker Gloria Montenegro, Villanueva relies on a wide knowledge of the Inca country's needs.
"Villanueva is experienced in terms of decentralization. He is familiar with the regions and shares
President Martin Vizcarra's decentralized approach. He would be ideal for the country since he might close social gaps and make the
reconstruction process more efficient," she expressed.
Peruanos Por el Kambio (PPK) ruling party lawmaker Juan Sheput affirmed Villanueva relies on a good political track record, enjoys the confidence of
President Vizcarra, and had a successful experience as San Martin Region Governor.
Furthermore, opposition Fuerza Popular legislator Ursula Letona remarked Villanueva has a comprehensive approach of the public and regional administration, which will contribute to the country's development.
Lastly, Frente Amplio (FA) congressman Marco Arana underlined Villanueva has a vision of environmental protection and dialogue, as demonstrated when he was chairman of the National Assembly of Regional Governments (ANGR).
As is known, President Vizcarra promised he would shape a
new ministerial cabinet. The list will be released after Holy Week.
